Vultures
Samuel Mbatha has worked on the Willis property for years. His relationship with the owner, Martin Willis, is a working one, strained by racial interaction. Samuel keeps to himself as much as possible. He leaves the property whenever he can as a means of escape. One night he returns to the house to find Martin in his car, in the process of gassing himself. Sam’s immediate reaction is to save Martin, but a combination of Martin’s refusal, Sam’s respect, and the barriers between them, convince Sam that he must not act.
